My drinking water quality

Pour yourself a glass of water anywhere in the North West with total confidence. We make sure your drinking water is always clean and clear. Not only do we have strict quality controls as we collect and treat the water, we also analyse hundreds of samples every day – taking them at random from water treatment works, reservoirs, supply points and customers’ taps across the region. We record the test results are recorded on the Drinking Water Register, which you can access using the water quality lookup, below.

So if you want to find out more about your water, please enter your postcode in the box below and click ‘Submit’. We will pull out the information for your water supply zone which is simply how we divide up the North West’s water supply network.

This will tell you where your water comes from as well as its chemical composition including its pH (useful if you keep fish), and hardness (helpful if you’re plumbing in a new dishwasher).

The Drinking Water Inspectorate are the regulators for water quality, and they provide independent reassurance that water supplies in England and Wales are safe and drinking water quality is acceptable to consumers.
